AP CM meets all opposition parties, seeks support for SCS

New Delhi, Apr 04: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is undertaking a two-day visit to New Delhi to meet leaders of various political parties and seek their support for the demand of special status to Andhra Pradesh.

Days after quitting the NDA alliance and moving a no-confidence motion against the BJP government, Chandrababu is seeking assistance from the Opposition for the cause of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Naidu spoke with AIADMK Floor Leader Venugopal. He urged him to extend support to the No Confidence Motion, being moved by the Telugu Desam Party. The AIADMK MP told the Chief Minister that he would take a decision after discussing with their high command.

Later, talking to media in the Central hall of Parliament, the Chief Minister made it clear that the TDP quit the NDA alliance as the BJP is maintaining close relations with the corruption-tainted YSRCP leaders. He clarified that he was meeting leaders of various political parties as part of his efforts to protect the interests of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Naidu also explained the troubles which the AP faced after bifurcation of the state and the attitude of NDA towards AP. Mr Naidu deplored that the Centre extended funds to AP for the development backward districts but withdrawn immediately.
