JMM leader Hemant Soren meets Telangana CM

Hyderabad, Mar 29: In a significant move, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and former chief minister Hemant Soren, accompanied by his family members, met TRS supremo and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragati Bhavan here on Wednesday.

Hemant Soren on Wednesday said a viable alternative to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would emerge in the country in time for the 2019 elections. "The BJP is playing dirty politics. It is showing its aggression. This sort of behavior is intolerable," he said in an interview with Media.

Hemant met Rahul recently and forged alliance with Congress to fight the next elections jointly in Jharkhand. KCR invited the leader along with all his family members to his posh Pragati Bhavan. The TRS supremo hosted sumptuous lunch with Telangana delicacies to all family members.

KCR told Hemant about his third front and the importance of the consolidation of all regional parties against BJP and Congress at the national level.

According to sources, while interacting with some TRS leaders, Soren recalled his father Shibhu Soren’s support to the Telangana movement when Rao was spearheading it.

Sources said the JMM leader was non-committal on ties with the Congress though he openly criticised the BJP which is in power in Jharkhand. "The BJP-led NDA government is adopting undemocratic policies. I am hopeful that by 2019 polls all like-minded parties will forge an alliance to defeat the NDA," he said.
