New Delhi, Mar 27: In a significant development, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday met leaders from the BJP ally Shiv Sena as well as MPs from several opposition parties in the national capital.
"The Central Hall is a famous hall, where I will meet the leaders of my party and if the leaders of other parties want to meet me, I welcome them. We are all friends," she told media at Kolkata airport last night.
The Trinamool Congress chief is also expected to meet UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
Banerjee is seen as a key player in a possible grouping of non-BJP political parties ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections.
