TRS NRI team praises Telangana CM KCR

London, Mar 17: The NRI TRS CELL UK President Anil Kurmachalam, along with other leaders, have welcomed what they called the ' historic allocation' of Rs.100 crore in the State budget for the welfare of NRIs across the globe, especially for those in Gulf countries.

Pointing out that before the formation of the State of Telangana, NRIs had got only Rs. 5 crores in the budget, they said the commitment of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to the people had led to this massive allocation this year.

" We thank CM KCR, Finance Minister Etela Rajender and NRI minister KT Rama Rao for their concern and commitment to work for the welfare of NRI community," they said.

The TRS-USA team organized a programme with Mahesh Bigala, TRS - NRI Coordinator on Thursday in NJ and reviewed the TS budget presented by Finance Minister E. Rajender. The meeting expressed happiness on the announcement of Rs 100 Crore for the NRI cell for the year 2018-19.

Mahesh Bigala, thanking the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for the gesture and also Minister for NRI affairs KT Rama Rao for making it happen, said this was a great gift to NRIs.

Srinivas Ganagoni (TRS-USA Convenor) said this was not only the highest ever allocation for NRI welfare in Telangana but also in the entire country, surpassing even the highest allocation by the erstwhile Ministry of Overseas Affairs of Government of India.
