AIR India Disinvestment soon

New Delhi Mar 12: The Government has announced that Air India would be disinvested last year and the proposal is going forward at full pace.

In a Major development, a consortium of three airlines Jet Airways, Air France – KLM and Delta Airlines have submitted an expression of interest in acquiring debt-ridden Air India.Earlier Tata and Indigo have also expressed their interest to acquire the airline.

Currently, the airline is suffering from a debt of RS 53,000 Cr and Committee under the chairmanship of Finance Minister to work out the modalities of disinvestment and the govt had not yet announced any measures in this regard.

Experts said that the govt would announce a roadmap soon to privatize the airline.
