Govt introduces Bill to nail Fugitives

New Delhi Mar 12: In a Move to ensure that Economic offenders don't run away from the country after cheating the public and banks the government has introduced fugitive economic offenders bill in the Loksabha today.

The Minister of State for Finance has introduced the bill amid the protests made by various members. Earlier BJD MP Mehthab has opposed the introduction of the bill citing that this bill denies the persons to approach the court to seek justice.

However, the Minister has said that all constitutional safeguards have been taken while preparing the bill and The main objective is to confiscate all the assets of fugitives so that dues can be recovered.

The Govt had also introduced Chit Funds Amendment bill to ensure some hardships encountered in the business are removed.
