Rajinikanth follows MGR?

Chennai, Feb 06: Tamil superstar Rajinikanth on Monday invoked the legacy of late All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) founder M.G. Ramachandran, saying he was confident of giving a good administration like the yesteryear matinee idol.

Unveiling a statue of MGR at the Dr MGR Educational Research Institute in Chennai, Rajinikanth said he understands politics and can provide the kind of rule that MGR gave.

Rajinikanth, who is yet to formally launch his political party, said he knows that the path of politics is not decked with flowers but filled with thorns.

In his speech, which gave an insight into his political ideology and his priorities of his yet-to-be launched party, Rajinikanth acknowledged he was "not MGR" and "If someone says he will be (like) MGR, he will only be a crazy man."
