Conrad Sagma sworn as CM of Meghalaya

Shillong Mar 6: In a Major development NPP President Conrad Sangma has taken oath as CM of the North eastern state Meghalaya.Earlier regional parties along with BJP have met the governor and said that they would form a government.

In Meghalaya NPP has secured 19 seats, BJP has won 2 seats, United Democratic Party (UDP) has won 6 seats, People's Democratic Front (PDF) has won 4 seats and Hill State People's Democratic Party
(HSPDP) has won 2 seats and 1 independent candidate have supported the NPP Government.

Earlier the Congress has emerged as a single largest party and has won 21 seats and held discussions with various other parties but they failed to cooperate.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by BJP party president Amit Shah.However, the Congress has objected the government formation and said that BJP has not respected Peoples mandate
