Police recorded the Statement of Boney Kapoor

Mumbai, Feb 27: Bollywood actress Sridevi died on Saturday night after drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room, Dubai Police said. She was 54.

In this regard, Dubai Police has recorded the statement of Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor.

Boney was called to the Bur Dubai police station for questioning.

The police took his statement after which he was allowed to return to his hotel.

According to the sources, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor and their younger daughter Khushi had gone to Dubai to attend a family wedding. Later, Boney Kapoor had returned to Mumbai to drop off Khushi and then went back to Dubai to surprise his wife, reports said. The couple was to go out for dinner and Sridevi collapsed in bathroom, while getting ready.

As per latest updates, Sridevi's mortal remains are still in the morgue and haven’t yet been handed over to her family.
