CM KCR promises drinking water to all villages by March end

Hyderabad, Feb 24: The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is keen on supplying drinking water to every household from March 31.

He has instructed officials to take up works simultaneously under the ongoing Mission Bhagiratha and lay pipelines to villages as well as take up works pertaining to internal pipeline networks in the villages.

After reviewing the progress of Mission Bhagiratha at Pragati Bhavan on Friday, the Chief Minister directed the local legislators to take initiative and actively participate in expediting Mission Bhagiratha works within the stipulated period.

"Drinking water pipeline network should be ready before the launch of drinking water supply and taps should be fixed in every household without fail," he said. He wanted the officials to ensure that drinking water was supplied in all villages located within the Outer Ring Roads of Hyderabad before March end.

Mission Bhagiratha vice-chairman Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Chief Secretary SK Joshi, Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao, Secretary to the Chief Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddyl, officials of Mission Bhagiratha and representatives of the work agencies participated.
