TDP to feild 3 cndidates, YSRCP to fight for 1 Rajyasabha Seat

Amravati Feb 24: The Election Commission on Friday has announced the schedule for elections of 59 seats of Rajya Sabha. The Elections would be held on March 23.The vacancies are caused because of the retirement of following members.

The union ministers found retire include Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Ravishankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar, Dharmendra Pradhan, J P Nadda, Thawarchand Gehlot, Mansukh Mandaviya, Parshottam Rupala and Ramdas Athawale.

Poll nomination window opens on March 5, closes on March 12. Last date for withdrawal of candidature March 15.

However, 3 seats are felling vacant in Andrapradesh. The following members from Andhra Pradesh are retiring Chiranjeevi, Renuka Chowdary (Congress), Devender Goud(TDP).

Currently, TDP Govt in Andrapradesh is planning to win all the 3 seats by fielding candidates and Opposition Party YSRCP is fielding 1 candidate.Earlier 4 candidates used to represent AP but the total number of seats decreased to 3 because of bifurcation.

Currently, 45 MLAs are needed for win one MP seat in Rajya Sabha from AP and YSRCP has 45 MLAs. However, the Votes of BJP MLAs are crucial for TDP to win the third seat .
