Allu Aravind signs MoU with UP Govt to make Ramayana worth Rs 500 Cr

Hyderabad, Feb 23: A major progress has been made towards the making of 'Ramayana', producer Allu Aravind's dream project and India's most expensive film.

Madhu Mantena, one of the producers of 'Ramayana', revealed that they had signed a MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Uttar Pradesh government's cinema arm Film Bandhu to make the Rs 500 Cr mythological spectacle in the state. The Chairman of Film Bandhu said that the UP govt. will fully support the efforts of making Ramayana in their state.

Ramayana is envisioned as a project that retells the story of Lord Rama to all generations with the help of the latest technology and visual effects. The magnum opus will be shot in 3D and released as a three-part series in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

At present, discussions are being held to finalize cast and crew.
