YSRCP demands Disqualify TDP MLA Chintamaneni

Vijayawada, Feb 20: The Andhra Pradesh opposition YSR Congress Party on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Andhra Pradesh Assembly Secretary demanding the disqualification of Denduluru Assembly Constituency MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar immediately.
The party delegation - Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Adimulapu Suresh, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Ramachandra Rao met the Secretary and explained the TDP MLA was convicted in an assault case.
The MLA attacked the AP Minister Vatti Vasantha Kumar in a program years ago. The court awarded 2 years jail and also imposed fine. Soon after the judgment, Chintamaneni released on bail.
The party leaders said under the People's Representation act 1956, the legislators convicted in criminal cases have no right to continue in the posts.
