Hyderabad students got Swachh Guinness record

Hyderabad, Feb 15: Armed with broomsticks, they hit the Baghlingampally main road to write a new Guinness record and to spread the message loud and clear on the need to keep the city neat.

Under the Swachh Hyderabad initiative, Over 15000 students and youngsters grabbed a new Guinness record to spread the message on the need to keep the city clean.

The students, armed with broomsticks assembled at BR Ambedkar College in Ramnagar division of GHMC and swept the roads.

The record is held by Vadodara municipality with over 5000 participants.

Organised as a part of creating awareness on the Swachh Survekshan program, the event will be conducted in the city from February 15 to 22.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao addressed the gathering stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had launched the Swachh Hyderabad initiative even before the Swachh Bharat campaign was kicked into force.

Appealing the citizens to participate in the campaign, KTR urged the public to help Hyderabad bag the top position.
