7 members arrested and Rs 39.5 lakh old notes seized

Kadapa Feb 10: In a major move Police have arrested a 7 member gang and has Seized Rs 39.5 lakh Rupees of demonetized currency notes of 500 and 1000 and 8 mobile phones. Police have arrested the gang from an agricultural field in E. Thamballapalli in Kalasapadu police station limits in Kadapa district.

Additional SP (Administration) A. Srinivasa Reddy told the media that "The police arrested Shaik Khaja Peer, 45, Shaik Ameer Basha, 40, and Bathala Prasad, 30, all of Porumamilla Mandal, Shaik Baba Khalander, 35, of Proddatur, Bhumipalli Koti Reddy, 35 and Shaik Nagoor Meera, 24, of Guntur and Perala Srinivasulu, 34, of Prakasam district from the agricultural field of Koppalla Tirupati Reddy, 40, suspected to be the kingpin of the gang."

He added that "Tirupati Reddy, who was injured in a recent incident and undergoing treatment in a hospital was not traceable.we have arrested the people based on a tip-off received and the currency exchange was likely to take place near the feild".
