Arun Jailtey on Aadhaar: Govt will protect Privacy of citizens

New Delhi, Feb 08: During a debate in Lok Sabha on the Union Budget, Finance minister Arun Jaitley replied to a Aadhaar based question and said that it was too late to say that privacy was not a fundamental law and assured Parliament that the Narendra Modi government was committed to protecting the privacy of citizens while implementing the Aadhaar programme.

"We are committed to the privacy of Aadhaar. I personally believe it is too late to say privacy is not a fundamental law," Jaitley said.

As the news of Aadhaar data breach spread, many are concerned about the privacy of information but Jaitley assured that government will make Aadhaar safer to use.
