372 reforms to be intiated for ease of doing business

NewDelhi Feb 3: The Finance minister on Thursday has presented the budget and the FM has further enhanced on ease of doing business in the Country.

Jaitley has said that "To carry the business reforms for ease of doing business deeper and in every State of India, the Government of India has identified 372 specific business reform actions."

" All States have taken up these reforms and simplifications in a mission mode constructively competing with each other. Evaluation of performance under this Programme will now be based on user feedback," he added.

The Finance Minister has also announced that "We had introduced e-assessment in 2016 on a pilot basis and in 2017, extended it to 102 cities with the objective of reducing the interface between the department and the taxpayers. With the experience gained so far, we are now ready to roll out the E-assessment across the country, which will transform the age-old assessment procedure of the income tax department and the manner in which they interact with taxpayers and other stakeholders. "

Jaitley has added that " a new scheme for assessment where the assessment will be done in an electronic mode which will almost eliminate person to person contact leading to greater efficiency and transparency would be notified".
