1000 B.Tech Students to get Prime Minister Fellowship Scheme

New Delhi Feb 2: Finance minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday has presented the budget and has emphasisied on the education sector.The Finance Minister has announced the following initiatives for education.
A fellowship Scheme has been announced for merit students.FM has announced that"A 'Prime Minister Fellowship Scheme' for top 1,000 BTech students in the country to provide an opportunity to the students to pursue a Ph.D. in IITs and Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
"The students will also be rewarded with a handsome fellowship amount". FM has also announced that "setting up of two new full-fledged schools of planning and architecture and also 18 schools of planning and architecture to be set up under the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) as autonomous schools."
