Salaries of President, Vice-President, Governors Get a Big Hike

New Delhi, Feb 01: The salaries of the President and the Vice President have been increased to Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 4 lakh per month respectively, in a rectification of an anomaly.

The Union Budget 2018 is the last full-year budget of the current government before the general elections in 2019.

The President's salary will go up to Rs 5 lakh a month, the Vice-President will draw a salary of Rs 4 lakh per month and the Governor's pay will be revised to Rs 3.5 lakh a month.



The scale of increase in the salary of the President is by a whopping 200%.

The matter needs Parliament's approval which is expected in the current Budget session.
