Tatkal passport rules ammended

New Delhi Jan 30: Do you feel, that getting a tatkal passport is a cumbersome process No worry the government has amended the passport rules and it is now easy to get Tatakal Passport.

The Ministry of External Affairs has decided to do away with the Verification certificate issued by Group-1 or gazetted officers verification certificate that is needed for obtaining a tatkal passport. The Applicants can now submit any 2 documents from 12 documents and they can also submit Aadhar Enrollment Number also.

Sources said that the government has amended the rules after many people have expressed their concern regarding the need of verification certificate by Group-1 Officer which is a cumbersome process and also leads to corruption.

Currently, tatkal passport is available within 3 days after the applicant submits his application and verification process is done.
