Govt assigns new syllabus for Engineering student- Vedas, Puranas etc

May be the government now wants engineering students to complete their studies in Vedas and puranas before completeing engineering. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on Wednesday released revamped curriculum that includes study of Vedas, Puranas and tark shastra.

This new syllabus may not go down well with many as this will be a biased syllabus which will promote one religion in educational system which is against law.

The change will be implemented in the ongoing academic year 2017-2018. The revamped curriculum lays emphasis on practical knowledge and lab work — the credits required for theory have been reduced to 160 from 220.

Human Resource and Development minister, Prakash Javadekar, said that students will also be required to intern with industries as well as the social sector. This will also help engineering graduates connect with the need of the industry and society at large.
