Lalu Prasad Yadav convicted in 3rd Fodder Scam

Ranchi Jan 24: Former Bihar chief minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav has been convicted in third fodder scam by Special CBI Court. The RJD chief is already in jail after he was convicted in 2nd Fodder Scam.

Today, the verdict was delivered in a case related to the Chaibasa Treasury from which Rs. 33.67 crore were siphoned off against the actual allocation of just Rs. 7.10 lakh in 1992-93.

Former Bihar CM Jagannath Misra was also convicted in this case earlier he was acquitted in the second fodder scam. Apart from this Lalu Prasad is been accused in two more cases related to fodder scam and they are at various stages.

Currently, he is being served a 3.5 years jail term and he is unable to contest elections.
