Members of Karni Sena vandalize theaters, bus, malls and even school

Members of Rajput Karni Sena protesting against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming movie, Padmaavat, resorted to vandalism in several parts of country including Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, MP and Uttar Pradesh.

Bhansali has been under attack from the groups since he started shooting for the movie. The set of the movie was vandalised twice – in Jaipur and Kolhapur – and the director was roughed up by Karni Sena members in Jaipur in January 2017.

And now as the film is set to hit the silver screens on January 25, the Sena members have intensified the protest across the country.

The protest against the release of controversial movie reached Hapur district of UP on Monday after ticket counter of a cinema hall was vandalised by people claiming to be from Karni Sena and other fringe groups.

A bus was vandalised by miscreants at the National Highway-8 in Gurugram on Monday over their objection to the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Padmaavat.

The fringe group members also attacked and vandalised shops in Raheja Mall, located on Sohna Road, Gurgaon.

Not only theatres, the Rajput Karni Sena even vandalised a school in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh for performing the dance number 'Ghoomar'. A few days back when students from grades one to five were dancing on 'Ghoomar' song during their annual day function in Saint Paul’s Convent School, members of the Karni Sena forcefully entered the premises and allegedly destroyed the school property.
