Trump signs Funding bill, US Govt shutdown ended

Washington Jan 23: In a major relief the US Government shutdown has ended after president Trump has signed a law the funding bill

The bill now funds the government upto February 8, along with the popular Children's Health Insurance Programme (CHIP) for at least six years.

The United States Senate cleared the government funding bill and passed it on to the House, who also supported and passed the bill and sent it for US President signature to officially end the three-day government shutdown on Monday.

The White House announced that "the United States Government will be running at its full strength from Tuesday."

Earlier the government was shut down for 3 days earlier as the Senate didn't pass the funding bill and many government employees were affected on Monday.

Trump has tweeted that "Big win for Republicans as Democrats cave on Shutdown. Now I want a big win for everyone, including Republicans, Democrats, and DACA, but especially for our Great Military and Border Security. Should be able to get there. See you at the negotiating table!"
