Padmaavat row - women threaten to commit jauhar -self-immolation

Shri Rajput Karni Sena are convinced that the sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor is a distortion of history and an insult to Rani Padmini of Chittor.

Hundreds of women from the Sarva Samaj, did a 'Swabhiman Rally' against Padmaavat, in Rajasthan's Chittor today. The women began their rally against the film from the Jauhar venue of the fort in Rajasthan's Chiittorgarh district.

They carried swords as a mark of protest and to protect their self-respect. Hundreds of women from nearby areas, including Madhya Pradesh, joined them voicing their vociferous protests against the release of the film.

The rally, which went through various routes of Chittor, ended at Jauhar Bhavan. Several women protesting against the film, have threatened to commit jauhar (self-immolation), a day prior to its scheduled date of release, that is, January 25.
