India and Israel missile deal back on track

Israel, Jan 17: Israel's Spike anti-tank guided missiles deal was cancelled by India just few weeks ahead of Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visit. But the $500 million lucrative defence deal is back on track according to some reports.

Israeli media on Wednesday quoted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as saying that India will buy Israel's Spike anti-tank guided missiles.

Renewal of the deal is being considered as a "major strategic achievement", the Jerusalem Post reported.

Netanyahu, who is on a six-day visit to India, said the final details and scope of the deal are still in the process of being worked out, the paper said.
