RS Chairmain Sends privilege notice against Rahul to Loksabha

New Delhi Jan 6: In yet another embarrassment for Congress President Rahul Gandhi the Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu has sent the privilege motion issued against Rahul Gandhi to Loksabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan as he is a member of Loksabha.

The Action Assumes significance as BJP member Bhupender Yadav had issued a breach of privilege notice against Congress president as insulted the BJP leader Arun Jaitley and twisted his name to defame him regarding the remarks he made in parliament about the esteem of the former PM and former chairman of Rajyasabha.

The Chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Friday has said that "I will have to examine it and take a view. One thing I should advise everybody is that a solemn agreement had been reached between the Leader of the House [Jaitley] as well as the Leader of the Opposition [Ghulam Nabi Azad]. All other people have also endorsed it. Anybody outside commenting on that agreement… That is not fair and good for the House and also our system. But anyhow… I will be going through the privilege motion and take an appropriate decision".
