WhatsApp, one of the most used apps, went down for almost all users across the world on new year day. Many were frustrated as they were not able to send messages to their dear ones. Many users vented their frustration and trolled WhatsApp on micro-blogging site.

Soon #WhatsappDown hashtag was one of the top trends. People reported about the outage on other social media sites and many resorted to other social media networking apps to send messages.
