241 Parliamentarians supported the Triple Talaq Bill against Asaduddin Owaisi

New Delhi, Dec 28: The Lok Sabha has passed a bill on Thursday that makes instant "Triple Talaq" a criminal offense and proposes a three-year jail term for a Muslim man who divorces his wife by uttering the word "talaq" thrice.The bill was passed by the House after a broader debate.

Majlis MP Asaduddin Owaisi amendment proposals on the talaq bill are gone.

Owaisi said this bill violates fundamental rights and lacks legal coherence. Owaisi gave the notice opposing a move to criminalize triple talaq.This came after the bill to criminalize triple talaq was cleared by Union Cabinet.

Instead, The Women's supports Prime minister Modi and Uttar Pradesh Cheif Minister YOGI for introducing triple talaq bill.

There are 241 members voted against 2 in favor of the Asaduddin amendment proposals.

The Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the bill was meant for Muslim women. All rights reserved for Muslim women's rights. It is not related to politics, but to humanity.
