Bill to punish Triple talaq introduced in loksabha

New Delhi Dec 28: The union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today had introduced a bill to punish the people who pronounce Triple Talaq. The minister had introduced the Muslim Women Protection of Rights on Marriage Bill .

Earlier many members have opposed the introduction of the bill.Hyderabad MP Assaudin Owaisi has said that "The triple talaq bill violates the Right to Freedom. Muslims were not consulted for this bill. If passed, it will be an injustice to Muslim women. Women abandoned by religion need help. The Bill lacks basic coherence,"

BJD leader Mahthab has said that "there are drafting flaws in the bills and Muslim women would suffer ".

The law minister has said that "the bill Supports Muslim women and it is in concurrence with the Supreme Court judgment which declared the triple talaq null and Void".
