Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan demands justice for Jerripothula Palem victims

Vishakapatnam, Dec 24: A political storm is set to brew over the reported incident of a woman being thrashed allegedly by the members of the ruling Telugu Desam Party over a land dispute in Jerripothula Palem in Visakhapatnam district, with Janasena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan asking the Andhra Pradesh government to initiate immediate action.

In a series of tweets, which went viral instantly, the popular actor demanded justice to the victims. "I was deeply disturbed by what I heard and saw," said Pawan in a tweet by sharing the video link of the incident and "Lack of stringent action by police and Govt. on perpetrators will send wrong indications in public," he added in another tweet.

In another tweet, Pawan warned the government and said, "If the Govt. doesn't respond in the manner it has to then the outcome for sure will not be pleasant one." He also sighted about how the Rohit Vemula incident has shaken the nation and requested the authorities to "not to be mute spectators."

Pawan also demanded the govt. "to make sure that helpless woman honour be restored and justice be done." He pleaded the "community leaders of particular caste (where the perpetrators hail from)" to address the issue and condemn it in public for the sake of "peaceful coexistence and general well-being of society."

And, advised the ruling and opposition parties to "find a way to discuss and debate in AP assembly to avert future situations like this" instead of "mudslinging on each other".
