Child trafficking racket busted, infant rescued

Hyderabad, Dec 21: The Rachakonda Police have arrested a gang of six persons, who were trying to sell a newborn baby girl,was arrested by the Saroornagar police on charges of child trafficking here on Wednesday. The newborn child was rescued and was handed over to a child home.

According to the police, based on credible information, a team comprising of Rachakonda Special Operations Team and Saroornagar police conducted a decoy operation and nabbed the suspects.

The culprits have been identified as Kedavath Ravi, Kedavath Saroja, Vadithyavath Rukka, Mudavath Lakshman, Narsingh and Varithyavath Redya.

"They were caught red-handed while trying to sell a female infant for Rs.80,000,"said A Manmohan, Inspector (In-charge), Saroornagar.

The police have also seized one car, four mobile phones and Aadhar cards. A case was booked and further investigation is going on.
