No Permission to PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi to Hold Roadshow in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, December 12: The Gujarat police have denied permission to the BJP and the Congress to hold roadshows of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in the city.

The roadshows were to pass through busy marketplaces in the poll-bound state's Ahmedabad. The police stated that the rallies could cause traffic congestions leading to great public inconvenience and refused to permit the roadshows.

The request by BJP and Congress for conducting PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi's roadshow has been turned down by the police due to security, law and order reasons and to avoid public inconvenience,” Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Anup Kumar Singh told to media.
