Nitin Gadkari :Polavram project would be completed by 2018 end

New Delhi Dec 6: In a Move to ensure that Development doesn't get stalled Union Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari has assured that center would help in the construction of Polavaram project by end of 2018.

Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma along with other officials, contractors, subcontractors have all held discussions with the union government minister and cleared all their doubts and urged them to speed up the works and said that he would visit the site on Dec 22 and he would monitor the project once in every fortnight.

Gadkari had spoken to Andra Pradesh Cheif minister Chandra Babu Naidu on phone on Tuesday and assured him that project would be completed on time and has also said that the process of issuing tenders to other contractors after he visits the site and the decision would be collectively taken by him and AP CM.

Earlier union water ministry officials have urged the state government to stop the ongoing works and rejected the idea of awarding contracts with other agencies.

Finally, Minister has ordered to release the Rs 390 crores immediately and assured that remaining RS 2900 cr spent by the state government would also be cleared soon.
