King Salman avoids Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim at GCC annual summit

Kuwait Dec 05: At the Gulf Cooperation Council annual summit Saudi Arabia avoided Qatar.

The Summit was going ahed in Kuwait city and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani was also invited.

Uncertainty about which country will join Qatar the rival of Saudi was seen in the summit.

Just hours before the talks were due to begin, Saudi King Salman sent his foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir, to summit and avoided attending the summit.

State television showed Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah receiving Jubeir at the airport as the head of the kingdom's delegation.

Bahrain sent its deputy premier and Emirati media said the state minister for foreign affairs would represent Abu Dhabi.
