New Delhi, December 05: World's largest social media network Facebook has announced a new version of its Messenger chat app designed for children ages six to 12. Called Messenger Kids, the new app does not require a Facebook account due to federal law, users under the age of 13 cannot legally sign up for Facebook
The app's design is elegant and its privacy features appear thoughtful — kids can only chat with contacts approved by parents.
Special proactive detection safety filters prevent children from sharing nudity, sexual content or violence, while a dedicated support team will respond quickly to reported or flagged content.
Facebook even manually sifted Giphy to build a kid-friendly version of the GIF-sharing engine. And with childish augmented reality masks and stickers, video calls with grandma could be a lot more fun.
