OU student commits suicide

Hyderabad, December 04: Tense atmosphere prevailed at Osmania University campus on Sunday as a postgraduate student committed suicide at Maneru hostel.

E Murali (21), a first-year student of MSc Physics in the university’s science college, who hails from Doulapur village of Jagdevpur Mandal in Siddipet district, close to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's farm house, took the extreme step leaving behind a suicide note.



Students alleged that Murali was depressed because of the government’s failure to release job notifications.

Murali's suicide, the first at OU since the formation of Telangana state, came a day before Koluvulakai Kotlata (fight for jobs), a protest meeting planned by the Telangana Joint Action Committee on Monday.
