Families take Metro ride on Saturday

Hyderabad Dec 3: Hyderabad Metro was opened to the public on Wednesday and it had attracted huge crowds since its inception. people have thronged to metro on Saturday being a weekend and the rush is expected to continue on Sunday. Sources said that nearly 2.5 lakh people have traveled in the metro on Saturday.

Metro officials have said that many people from various parts of the state and surrounding states such as Maharastra, Karnataka and
Andra Pradesh have visited the city to enjoy the ride and many people along with their families including women, old age and children were visible on platforms waiting to enjoy the first metro ride



The crowd was visible at Ameerpet, Nagole, Uppal, Secunderabad and Miyapur stations and the frequency of the trains has been increased and the metro staff have ensured that not more than 1000 people enter a single train.

Sources expect that the number of passengers traveling would come down as the initial euphoria ends because of high fares.
