Who is Snehalatha Srivastava?

New Delhi, Nov 29: The Secretariat issued the appointment of IAS Officer Snehalatha Srivastava as the new General Secretary of the Lok Sabha. For the first time, a woman general secretary has been appointed in the Lok Sabha. Ramadevi was the first female secretary general of Rajya Sabha.

Madhya Pradesh Cadre's 1982 batch IAS officer Snehalata will take over charge from December 1. Her tenure will be completed on November 30, 2018.

She will take over the charge of the current general secretary Anoop Mishra, one day after leaving office. Loksabha general secretary Anoop Mishra 's tenure ends on November 30.

Sneha Latha's appointment is taking place at a time when the winter session of Parliament is going to begin from December 15.
