ICICI MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar about women empowerment at GES

Hyderabad Nov 29: The Global Entrepreneurship Summit was inaugurated on Tuesday by PM Modi, US President Ivanka Trump and CM KCR have attended the inaugural event.The second day of The summit has begun grandly with a plenary session 'We Can Do It! Innovations in Workforce Development and Skills Training' The session was attended by US president Advisor Ivanka Trump, ICICI Bank, Managing Director and CEO, Chanda Kochhar, Cherie Blaire, and Karen Quintos. The session was moderated by Telangana IT minister KTR.

Speaking at the plenary session Chanda Kochhar has said that "We don't have special policies for women. But we focus on creating a work environment for women, so they feel confident that it's on the basis of their merit they rise."

She further added "It's the desire, support, and ecosystem of the organization where women work that will help them break the glass ceiling. Recognition of work keeps us going.If you educate a woman you educate a generation".

"Not even 25 percent of graduate women (in India) participate in the workforce.India's economic structure is changing to allow women to start their own careers – now we have more female sports stars, pilots, navy, ministers, bankers."Chanda Kochhar added.
