Pradhan Manthri Mahila Shakthi Kendras  to empower women

New Delhi Nov 22: The Union cabinet under the leadership of PM Modi has taken some crucial decesions. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has briefed the media about the decisions.

Establishment of Pradhanmantri Mahila Shakti Kendra :

PMSK institutes would be established to protect women and empower them and this would be established at the state level, district level and below.The institution's mandate would be to ensure that all women participate in the women empowerment and they get the benefits of pro women and pro-girl child schemes these would be extended till 2019-20.

A total of Rs 3636 cr has been outlayed under this scheme and central government would spend Rs 3084 Cr .

Beti Bachao Beti Pado scheme would be extended to 640 districts of the country. students volunteers would be involved to develop 150 backward districts in the country.

3 lakh student volunteers would be involved to empower the women.190 more working women hostels would be established so that 1900 women would be benefitted.

Ravishankar Prasad said that establishment of Mahila Shakthi Kendra (MSK) was announced in the previous budget and hoped that these centers would help in improving sex ratios of women.
