Cabinet Approves increase in salaries of HC,SC Judges

New Delhi Nov 22: The Union cabinet under the leadership of PM Modi has taken some crucial decesions. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has briefed the media about the decisions.

Revision of salaries of High courts and Supreme court judges

The cabinet has approved to amend the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1958 and High Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1954.

These amendments to the act ensure that the salaries of judges of high courts and supreme courts would be increased in accordance with the recommendations of the 7th Pay commission.

The benefits would be applicable from 1 Jan 2016 .31 Supreme court Judges,1079 Judges of the high courts and 2500 retired judges would be benefitted.

The amendments of the acts include revision of salaries, pensions, HRA, allowances, gratuity, arrears.
