Telugu Mandatory for CBSE, ISCE

Hyderabad, November 22: AS we knew that, Telangana govt has said that Telugu is a compulsory subject up to the intermediate courses, the state govt has announced yet another announcement in this regard here on Tuesday.

As per the decesion Schools in Telangana will have Telugu as a mandatory language subject starting with the next academic year.

Both CBSE and ISCE boards have given their approval for implementation of the state language from Class 1 to XII from the academic year 2018-19,While the CBSE and ICSE put forth necessary rules for the mandatory implementation of a language in respective states, it is still unclear whether Telugu would be offered as a second or third language.

A report on draft policy of Telugu as a mandatory subject was submitted by the sub-committee constituted by the government to the deputy chief minister and education minister Kadiyam Srihari on Tuesday.
