Hyderabad RGI Airport installs Innovative Recycling Machines

Hyderabad, Nov 21:As a part of Prime Minister's 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd.(GHIAL), which operates Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), has announced that it has become the first airport in the country to commence installing innovative Recycling machines as a pilot project for crushing plastic PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) bottles, steel/aluminum cans and plastic bags in an eco-friendly way for recycling purposes.
In association with Wild West Media, an agency which is providing these machines, GHIAL has started the pilot project with the installation of two such Recycling machines at strategic locations within the airport, Airport said in a release here today.
This project is being steered under the umbrella of the airport’s signature #PassengerisPrime programme with the motive to inspire people to contribute towards environmental sustenance.
Passengers will get an option to either make a donation or claim a discount coupon in return for submitting their empty plastic water bottles/bags/metal cans into the crushing machine.
