Drones to conduct night patrolling: Karimnagar Police

Karimnagar, Nov 20: The Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have launched drone camera surveillance for night patrolling in Karimnagar town from Saturday onwards.

Buoyed over the successful drive against the open consumption of liquor and against illegal sand mining operations, the Karimnagar police used three drone cameras for night patrolling in Karimnagar town, from midnight on Saturday to the wee hours of Sunday. They seized 35 two-wheelers, two cars, and an auto-rickshaw.

Commissioner of Police V. B. Kamalasan Reddy personally conducted night patrolling and operated the drone cameras to track the movement of people. Based on the videos sent by drone cameras, the police teams rushed to the spot and seized vehicles of youths strolling late in the night.

The drone cameras are operated above 500 meters and covered a radius of three kilometers. The cameras were also operated in the lanes and bylanes of the town to check the movement of people. The police summoned the youths along with their family members and counseled them.
