OTP verification of Aadhar-Mobile from Dec 1

Mumbai Nov 16: In a move to facilitate easy linkage of Aadhar with Mobile number the UIDAI has granted permission to verify the customers using OTP.

UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey has said that "Yes, we have approved it. We had a very detailed discussion with the telecom operators, and they have come out with a scheme which is secure and will also be convenient to people and this will help people verify their mobile number with Aadhaar without going to a telecom outlet, provided their mobile number is already added to Aadhaar database".

Telecom operators said that this would help the people as they no longer need to visit stores of telecom operators for Aadhar re-verification. Earlier the government has ordreded the telecom operators to visit homes of elederly and divayang people so that there mobiles can be linked with Aadhar .

However the order would be implemented from Dec 1 and people have hailed this move and said this would save there time and the process becomes easy.
