TS Govt announces honararium to Rs 5,000 for VOAs

Hyderabad, Nov 13: The Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Jupally Krishna Rao said that The Government has enhanced the honorarium of Village Organisation Assistants (VOAs) from Rs 2000 to Rs 5000 here on Monday.
While replying to a question from members of the Assembly, Mr. Rao said with the enhancement as on date 18491 VOAs would be benefited in the state.
The total burden would be approximately Rs 80 crore on the government's exchequer.
During 2017-18, the government has released Rs 39.54 crore, the Minister added.
