Telangana Govt to encourage Solar,Wind power generation

Hyderabad, Nov 13: The Telangana state government has decided to encourage power generation through non-conventional energy sources in the state.

The Government has targeted to achieve 5000 MW Power generation through non-conventional energy sources by 2019, Energy Minister B Jagadish Reddy said on Monday while replying to questions in the house.

He said that due to the efforts are taken in last three years, 2,792 MW Solar power and 100.80 MW wind power was generated.

In Solar power generation, Telangana state was ahead as compared to other states in the country,he added.
