Kadiyam asked Warangal officials about Smart City Project plans

Warangal, Nov 13: Kadiyam Srihari Deputy CM of Telangana has urged the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation and district administration to prepare development plans with an outlay of Rs. 5,000 crore for the next two years.

The Municipal officials were asked to prepare Smart City Project plans with an estimated fund of Rs. 2,750 crore.

Reviewing the development activities here on Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari asked officials to complete the Master Plan by December 15 and put it for public debate till December 31. "The new master plan should come into force by March 2018," he told them.

The roads connecting Warangal city with Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Mulug, Narasampet, Khammam and the villages surrounding the city which are in newly-created districts, should also be taken into consideration while drawing the plans, he said.



A separate plan for the development of historic monuments such as Thousand Pillar temple, Padmakshi temple, and surrounding, Fort Warangal among others in the city under Hriday plan with Rs. 35-crore budget from the Central Government would also be prepared.

"The State Government released Rs. 600 crore during the last two years as promised by Chief Minister
K. Chandrasekhar Rao and efforts should be made to utilize the amount effectively and efficiently," Mr. Srihari said.

Warangal Rural Collector P.J. Patil, Warangal Urban Collector K. Amrapali, Municipal Commissioner Sruthi Ojha, Mayor N. Narender, KUDA Chairman M. Yadava Reddy, MLAs K. Surekha and D. Vinay Bhaskar and MP P. Dayakar were among those present at the review meeting.
