Telangana Top in digital transactions

Hyderabad Nov 12: Currently Many states are debating on the effect of demonetisation on the growth of digital transactions ion the states.The data released by the central government and various other sources revealed that Telangana has adopted digital transactions fastly compared to other states and it is in the top.

E-Taal Data

According to the Electronic Transaction Aggregation and Analysis Layer (eTaal) data released b the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Telangana stood second in the
E-transactions with 11,028 e-transactions per 1,000 people.

Lakshwadweep stood first place with 18,579 e-transactions for every 1,000 people.

The state recorded 32 % growth in digital transactions in the year 2017.

IT Minister KT Rama Rao said that "While the debate on DeMonetisation goes on a year after, digital adoption has clearly picked up and Telangana is ranked No. 1 among the states."

Massive awareness campaign and Govt Push

The Telangana Government has supported the PM Modis move and urged the people in the state to follow digital transactions and announced various steps and some villages in the states have become digital villages.

Massive Awareness campaigns were conducted by the banks,
post offices which has resulted in the rise in digital transactions.

However, some people say that the transactions rose only in the Hyderabad city being a software hub and the villages have not yet picked up in the transactions and a lot more efforts must be taken to become a less cash society.
